In Memory of Lori Healy Former Executive Director, Federation of Women Contractors
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Lori Healey, a former Executive Director of the Federation of Women Contractors and a true champion for opportunity, equity, and progress in our industry.
Lori’s leadership at FWC helped lay the groundwork for expanding opportunities for women-owned businesses in construction — work that continues to shape our mission today. She brought the same vision, drive, and fearless advocacy to every role she held, from leading Chicago’s Department of Planning and Development to serving as Chief of Staff to Mayor Richard M. Daley, CEO of the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, and a senior leader at the Obama Foundation overseeing the Obama Presidential Center.
Throughout her extraordinary career, Lori built projects, partnerships, and pathways for others. She made Chicago — and the industries she touched — stronger, more inclusive, and forward-looking. Her impact is woven into the fabric of our city and our organization.
We are proud to have had Lori as part of our story. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
Our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to be mentored by her.
