LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY – FWC members are well represented on legislative initiatives on all levels of government by local, state and national lobbyists.  

Regarded as a strong voice on business issues, FWC works diligently with local, state and national elected officials to initiate and/or pass legislation favorable to its members, such as:

  • Increase in Personal Net Worth (Federal)
  • Public Act 96-1064 (BEP Goals on all state grants/loans over $250,000)
  • Public Act 96-0706 (Submission of Utilization Plans at time of bid)
  • SB 2526 (Requires utility companies to report their M/WBE goals)
  • SB133 (Direct Pay to Subcontractors)
  • SB1382 (Prohibits primes from requiring subcontractors to post bonds)
