Join FWC to hear about two upcoming projects with the University of Chicago.

Presenters include:

David M. Rubenstein Forum - Turner Construction
Brad Carter, Turner Construction
Michael Ross, The University of Chicago Facilities Services

The University of Chicago has recently begun the process of designing and building an approximately 100,000 gross square foot conference center named the David M. Rubenstein Forum. The building will be a signature space on the campus, designed to create collaborative, thought-provoking experiences for faculty, visiting scholars, University leaders, and students. It must be a flexible space that can accommodate a wide variety of meetings and events with the ability to host multiple unrelated events simultaneously.

The Keller Center— Mortenson Construction
Larry Arndt, Morten Construction
Angela Knoble, The University of Chicago Facilities Services

The Keller Center, the future home of the University of Chicago Harris School and related institutes, will be an adaptive reuse of a 120,000 square foot building designed by Edward Durell Stone, originally built in 1962. Located at 1307 East 60th Street (currently the New Graduate Residence Hall), plus a possible rooftop addition. The building has served many functions over its history, most recently as a residence hall. While retaining and preserving the key features of its original construction, the redesign will incorporate new ideas and technology in a sustainable development.
